This week I had the pleasure of downing tools on a Monday and meeting a good friend for lunch. You know the kind….no shortage of topics, one who really gets you, your sense of humour not to mention your take on life. Oh and one where (after leaving) always, always you remember that one last thing you somehow didn’t quite find the time to speak about….🙈
Being fellow dog owners, parents, and also self employed, we tend to have a jam-packed conversation ranging from general updates, banter and the sharing of business experiences.
This time was no exception with the added bonus of discovering by chance, that we both have a significant shared childhood experience. We’d both been a bit vulnerable and opened up on what could be a sensitive topic but felt very easy to speak about. We both learned so much about each other’s experience whilst having the chance to share our own unique experience.
Over a lovely lunch, we had such a good opportunity to reflect on how we feel that has impacted us as adults as well as our understanding and tolerance for certain situations as a result.
On reflecting today I realised that my conversation yesterday was similar to financial coaching in terms of the benefits offered;
– A weight lifted by the act of sharing a challenging journey and being actively listened to (possibly for the first time)
⁃ Having the opportunity to see things from another perspective by being less ‘in your own head’
⁃ Having the breathing space to consider what action (if any) to take to make progress with moral support and accountability to do so
⁃ Being met where you are by someone with a similar lived experience with the feeling of zero judgement
If you’d like to discuss how financial coaching can help you to gain clarity over financial matters and to be fully supported to create change and make progress, I’m always open to those conversations using the contact me page 💜.
You can also click here to book an introductory (& free!) conversation to consider how financial coaching can help you. It will cost you nothing but your time and could be the best 30 minutes you spend working on yourself this month. Rosebud ethos is for clients to be completely ‘coaching ready’ so if that is not the case, there will be no hard selling and you’ll instead be signposted to some initial steps.
P.S If you have such a friend and you haven’t had a good old heart to heart in a while why not arrange one over a ☕️ or a beverage of choice soon?
